    Ascensos acquires Dutch contact centre in first overseas acquisition

    Motherwell based contact centre Ascensos has acquired HECC, a Dutch contact centre specialist, in its first overseas expansion.

    The strategically important acquisition will allow Ascensos to grow its business into new industry sectors, geographic territories, and to provide clients with a broader range of multi-lingual capabilities.

    Clients of Ascensos are increasingly requesting larger teams of advisors able to deliver services in multiple languages across different countries. HECC will give Ascensos this added capability as well as a base of operations with which to expand into Europe.

    HECC was established in 1994 and has 70 staff split across its operations in Boxtel, the Netherlands, and Bucharest, Romania.

    It provides technical, social media and product support in 12 different languages to mainly Western European clientsin the consumer goods and IT sectors, as well as those based in Eastern Europe and South America.

    The acquisition of HECC reflects the continuing growth of Ascensos which is already one of the UK’s fastest growing outsourced contact centres with over 500 staff.

    It recently won a multimillion pound contract with B&Q that will double Ascensos’ total workforce and ensure it is on target to employ over 1,000 people in 2017.

    Ascensos provides bespoke and specialised multi-channel customer contact solutions, including social media customer engagement,insights and analytics to a range of blue-chip clients,

    It has already seen off some of the world’s most established contact centre providers to win contracts with Karen Millen, Argos, Oasis and Scottish Power.

    Ascensos was established by Dermot Jenkinson, John Devlin and Katrine Young, who formed the team behindaward- winning customer care provider beCogent, based in Airdrie.
